Jose Herrera

Jose Herrera has a diverse work experience starting from 2009. Jose began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Arizona State University, where they conducted data entry and analysis for a research project. Jose also developed a GUI application and website to share results and run simulations.

Afterwards, they worked as a .NET Developer at Imaging Advantage LLC, where they designed applications to coordinate data extraction and consolidation for analysis. Jose also created executive dashboards using T-SQL and AngularJs.

Jose then joined Barrett-Jackson Auction Company as a Software Engineer, where they played a role in renovating the older database and implementing a code-first and TDD approach. Jose was responsible for both backend and frontend development as well as QA.

Next, they joined Integrate in 2014 as a Senior Software Engineer. During their tenure, they implemented a Rules engine and developed applications for delivering leads to enterprise-level partners. Jose also built a highly efficient and distributed system for handling concurrent lead uploads using microservices, gRPC, RabbitMQ, and Kafka. In March 2022, they were promoted to the role of Software Engineering Team Lead.

Currently, Jose works at Carvana as a Software Engineering Team Lead.

From 2007 to 2011, Jose Herrera pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics at Arizona State University.
