Tamara Friend

Tamara Friend is a dedicated educator currently serving as the Middle School Science Co-Chair and Middle School Science Teacher at Cary Academy since January 2021. In addition, Tamara co-founded the Jog For Good Foundation in April 2020. Prior to these roles, Tamara held various positions at Kyma Technologies, including Director of Sales and Production, Technical Sales Engineer, Growth Engineer, and Characterization Engineer, focusing on manufacturing processes, customer relations, and research and development in the field of optoelectronic applications. Early career experiences include roles as a Brand Ambassador for TEAM Enterprises and GMR Marketing, a Science Teacher at Independence High School, and quality assurance positions at Chemtura Corporation, Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, and Celanese-Ticona Polymers. Tamara earned an M.B.A. from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Gardner-Webb University.
