Mark Lawson

Mark Lawson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mark began their career as an Area General Manager at Pulse Corporation, where they served for over a decade. Following this, they worked as the Manager of Business Development & Franchise Development at Bear Rock Foods. Mark then transitioned to a Sales Manager role at St. Lawrence Homes. Mark later joined Fifth Third Processing Solutions powered by Vantiv as a Strategic Account Executive. Mark went on to work at Wells Fargo, starting as a Vice President, Business Development Officer before being promoted to Vice President Relationship Manager and eventually Vice President Senior Relationship Manager. Most recently, they have held leadership positions at the Cary Chamber of Commerce and Cary Economic Development, serving as President and Sr. Vice President Economic Development respectively. Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated expertise in portfolio management, client acquisition, business advising, and strategic consulting.

Mark Lawson attended East Carolina University from 2020 to 2021, where they completed the North Carolina Certified Economic Developer (NCCED) Program. In 2019, they briefly studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, taking the IEDC Basic Economic Development Course. Prior to that, they attended the University of Mount Olive from 1987 to 1992, earning a BS Degree in Leisure Systems Studies.
