Scott Segal has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Scott began their career in 2000 as a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, where they conducted research on clay-based catalysts for hydrogen production. Scott successfully developed efficient catalysts and published articles and a patent based on their findings.

In 2002, Scott Segal worked as an Analytical Chemist at South Mall Analytical Labs. There, they supervised and performed laboratory analyses of industrial and environmental samples. Scott also established quality control protocols for metals and organic analyses.

From 2003 to 2006, Scott Segal served as a Chemical Information Specialist/Analyst at NERAC. Scott executed various database searches to retrieve patent, technical, and business information for scientific organizations. Scott built strong client relationships and received numerous accolades for their outstanding performance.

Scott's next role was at ASRC Federal, where they worked for over fourteen years starting in 2006. Scott served as a Patent Research Specialist/Searcher and Sr. Technical Trainer. Scott provided in-depth patent and non-patent literature searches for examiners at the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). Additionally, Scott trained new patent examiners and searchers on various topics.

Most recently, Scott joined CAS in 2020 as an IP Search Analyst. In this role, they perform comprehensive patent and scientific literature searches in chemistry and related sciences for clients in IP law firms and scientific organizations. Their expertise encompasses patent landscaping, patentability, freedom-to-operate, and patent validity searches using electronic resources.

Scott Segal completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Oswego between 1990 and 1994. Scott later pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Connecticut, which they completed from 1994 to 2000.
