Domestic Violence Advocate at Casa Myrna

Simone deOliveira is a skilled community health worker and program coordinator at The Family Van since March 2021, where responsibilities include volunteer program coordination. Simone also serves as a domestic violence advocate at Casa Myrna, managing a statewide 24/7 toll-free hotline in English, Spanish, and Portuguese since January 2017. Previous experience includes work as an office staff member and work-study student at the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy, and an internship with the Office of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, assisting with casework and connecting residents to governmental services. Earlier, Simone worked as a field representative and union organizer at 32BJ SEIU, advocating for union members' rights and concerns across various workplaces. Simone holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from UMass Boston, earned between 2016 and 2019.

Casa Myrna

Casa Myrna is Boston’s largest provider of shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence, providing safety, resources, advocacy and information since 1977. We operate SafeLink, the statewide domestic violence hotline, and promote domestic and dating violence prevention through awareness and education. All of our supports are provided to survivors free of charge. We support ALL survivors regardless of race, ethnicity, language, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, disability, age, or sexual orientation.
