Ivailo Kassamakov

Product Development Lead Surgical Robotics at CASCINATION

Ivailo Kassamakov has extensive work experience in various roles related to product development, engineering project management, and software engineering. Ivailo started their career in 1998 as an Embedded Software Programmer at MM Solutions JSC. From 2000 to 2009, they worked at Fadata AD as an Embedded Systems Designer, where they were involved in designing hardware and performing validation for Texas Instruments DSP processors. In 2002, they had an IT internship at Hüttmann Logistik. From 2009 to 2011, they served as a Technical Project Lead at Johnson Controls Automotive, managing product development and production for interior electronic equipment. Since 2011, Ivailo has been with ETEL S.A., where they have held the role of Engineering Project Management & HW/SW Co-Design of Motion Control Systems. In 2019, they joined CASCINATION AG as a Senior Software Engineer in Surgical Robotics and was later promoted to Product Development Lead in the same field starting in March 2021.

Ivailo Kassamakov holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Wirtschaftsingenieur from Technische Universität Braunschweig, which they completed from 1998 to 2001. Ivailo also has a MScEE degree in Electrical Engineering, completed from 1995 to 2000. In addition, they have a Nanodegree in Data Analysis from Udacity (2015-2016) and a Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp (2016-2017). Ivailo has also pursued French Studies at Aliance Francaise Sofia (2002-2004) and obtained a Zertifikat M3 in German Language from Geothe Institut Sofia (1996-1998). Ivailo Kassamakov has obtained additional certifications in Medical Device Requirements Engineering and FSCP Functional Safety Engineer IEC 61508 from Medical Device HQ and TÜV SÜD respectively.
