Dean Tufts

Dean Tufts is currently the VP of Campus Planning & Facilities Management at Case Western Reserve University. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President for Facilities & Services at Stony Brook University, the Deputy Chief Management Officer at NAVFAC, and the Deputy Director of Shore Readiness at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Dean also commanded both NAVFAC Hawaii and the 31st Seabee Readiness Group. Dean's final active duty assignment was as the Civil Engineer Corps Head Detailer at Navy Personnel Command. Dean is a highly decorated naval officer, having been awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and the Meritorious Service Medal.

Dean Tufts' educational career began with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. Dean then pursued an Advanced Management Program at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Afterward, they obtained a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the College of Naval Command and Staff at the Naval War College. Finally, they completed a Master of Science in Civil Engineering/Construction Management from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, they hold a Professional Engineer certification from the State of Hawaii.
