Taylor Lee Rasey

Associate at Cassiday Schade

Taylor Rasey is an associate in the firm's Merrillville office. Taylor focuses her practice on a wide range of civil litigation defense matters. She has extensive experience with civil rights defense work, including correctional healthcare. Taylor also handles claims involving medical malpractice, transportation, premise liability and general tort claims. Taylor works with her clients on all aspects of litigation including factual investigation, written and oral discovery, motion practice, and trial, if necessary.

Prior to joining Cassiday Schade, Taylor worked as an associate attorney in the private sector practicing civil rights defense litigation, wherein she represented municipalities and officials in areas of civil liability claims, including Section 1983 constitutional law claims involving excessive force, jail conditions, false arrest, and malicious prosecution. She also worked defending private companies in matters involving general liability. During this time, Taylor was successful with numerous dispositive motions in both the Northern and Southern District Courts of Indiana. Taylor also regularly handled settlement conferences and negotiations on behalf of her clients.

Taylor received her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. While in law school, Taylor also participated in the General Practice Clinic where she provided free legal work to disadvantaged members of the community.
