Nick Hejazi, PE, PMP

Nick Hejazi, PE, PMP has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering and project management fields. Nick began their career as an Engineering Intern, completing successive internships with Florida Power & Light, Keshavarz and Associates, and Spiritech Advanced Products, where they gained experience in fossil fuel energy, water management, and aerodynamics. Nick then served as a Mechanical Engineer Instructor at Palm Beach State College, where they developed a training program for fossil fuel power plant technicians.

After that, Nick worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Everlite Hybrid Industries, where they were responsible for designing mechanical devices and innovative processes. Nick successfully optimized designs for indoor generator units, resulting in significant cost savings. Nick then joined Florida Power & Light Company as a Nuclear Systems Engineer, overseeing the reliability and operability of nuclear plant systems.

Nick later joined NextEra Energy Resources as a Project Engineer, managing design and procurement for large-scale power and renewable energy projects. Nick was responsible for ensuring projects were delivered on time and on budget. Nick then worked at Siemens as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, providing on-site support for a newly constructed combined-cycle power plant, resolving design deficiencies, and improving plant performance.

Most recently, Nick joined NextEra Energy Resources again, this time as a Project Manager. In this role, they focused on preventive maintenance optimization across the fleet, collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to ensure consistency and accuracy of maintenance strategies. Currently, Nick is the Director of Project Management at Castillo Engineering, where they manage utility-scale solar projects and develops and improves project management processes.

Throughout their career, Nick has demonstrated expertise in project management, technical support, operations, and maintenance. Nick has a strong background in engineering design, performance evaluation, and compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Nick Hejazi, PE, PMP holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from Florida Atlantic University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from NextEra Energy Resources, Professional Engineer (PE) from the State of Florida, and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
