Sarah Laun

Sarah Laun PhD currently serves as the Research and Development Director for Pipeline, GI at Castle Biosciences, Inc. since May 2025. Previously, Sarah held the position of VP of Research and Development and Senior Scientist at Previse from July 2021 to May 2025, and served as Director of Research and Development at inLUCEO Biosciences from December 2021 to July 2022. Other notable roles include Senior Research Scientist at Avoneaux Medical Institute, Lab Manager at the Translational Research Lab at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and various research positions at Baltimore Under Ground Science Space and the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Sarah earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a concentration in Microbiology from Towson University. Research expertise includes transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene regulation, with a strong record of publication and presentation at scientific meetings. Additionally, Sarah is the creator, host, and producer of a science podcast aimed at enhancing communication among scientists.
