Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest non-profit, feline-only animal shelter. Our mission is to  save the lives of homeless cats and to work with our community to provide feline expertise and quality programs and services for people and cats.

Currently we achieve this mission by:

•  Providing shelter, medical care, evaluation, and treatment to cats who have become homeless
•  Finding homes for the cats and kittens in our care
•  Providing people who care for cats with resources, education, and support to help keep human-animal 
bonds strong and prevent cats from becoming homeless
•  Offering low-cost spay/ neuter services to cat owners in need to prevent the births of unwanted litters
•  Working closely with other animal organizations to implement projects and programs that positively impact cats at a community and regional level

More than 58,000 cats and kittens have found loving new homes through the Cat Adoption Team since our founding in 1998. Those currently awaiting adoption receive daily care from a trained, dedicated group of staff and volunteers.

CAT works closely with animal welfare organizations, animal control agencies, veterinary offices, and other shelters to care for and rehome cats or kittens who may otherwise face euthanasia. We are dedicated to finding the right home for every feline we take in.

The Research and Development team at Cat Adoption Team focuses on enhancing the organization's programs and strategies to improve feline welfare and adoption rates. This team conducts research on best practices in animal care and adoption processes, develops innovative educational resources for the community, and collaborates with veterinary professionals to analyze data that informs medical treatments and preventative care for cats. By leveraging research and evidence-based practices, they aim to optimize outcomes for homeless cats and strengthen community engagement in feline welfare.
