María Elena G. has a long and varied work experience. María Elena began their career in 2008 as a Sales Room Administrator and Professional Internship with Empresas Ariztía. In 2009, they worked as a Nutrition and Conservation Teacher with Instituto ICCE, and as a Food Technologist - Food Safety and Quality and Food Safety Trainer with Walmart Chile. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a Corporate Food Safety and Quality Auditor with Viña Concha y Toro and a Quality Assurance Lead and Quality Assurance Coordinator with Caito Foods, LLC and Butterfield Foods, LLC, respectively. Most recently, they worked as a Quality Compliance Specialist with Royal Interpack Midwest from 2021 to 2022, and is currently employed as a Sanitation Manager with Catalina Crunch.

María Elena G. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Food Science & Engineering from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile in 2007 and a Bachelor of Food Science from the same university in 2006. María Elena also has several certifications, including Industrial Food Safety: Sanitation operator training from Deibel Laboratories in 2022, PCQI (Human Food) from AIB International, Inc in 2021, Food Labeling Training from AIB International, Inc in 2019, GMP/Sanitation Workshop from AIB International, Inc in 2019, Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from SixSigma.us in 2019, Food Safety HACCP (16 hr) from HACCP International Alliance in 2019, Food Safety Manager (National Registry of Food Safety Professionals, ANSI ) from Ecolab in 2013, and Servsafe from GCL Capacita in 2012.
