Jessica Humphrey has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations.

Jessica is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at Catalist since September 2021.

Prior to that, Jessica worked at AFT (American Federation of Teachers) for a significant period. Their roles at AFT include Director of Membership, Data, & Analytics from April 2017 to August 2021, Director of Organizing, Higher Education from October 2014 to April 2017, Interim Director, Higher Education Department from January 2015 to April 2015, Deputy Director, Great Lakes Region from August 2012 to October 2014, and National Representative from March 2008 to July 2012.

Before joining AFT, they founded the Femme Collective and served as the Chair or co-Chair of the Femme Conferences in 2006, 2008, and 2010.

Jessica also worked as an Organizer at AFT from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they worked as a Teaching Associate at UC Santa Barbara from September 1999 to December 2006, Director of LGBT Programs at Pacific Pride Foundation in 2005, and Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Ohio University from 1997 to 1999.

Jessica Humphrey earned a BA in English, Psychology, and Women's Studies from John Carroll University between 1991 and 1995. Jessica then pursued an MA in English with a focus on Creative Writing at Ohio University from 1997 to 1999. After that, they attended UC Santa Barbara from 1999 to 2006 and completed coursework for a PhD in English and Cultural Studies, but did not finish the degree (ABD).
