Cecilia Jimenez-Mallebrera

Cecilia Jimenez-Mallebrera is the Director of the Laboratory of Translational Research into Children's Neuromuscular Disorders at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu since 2010, after transitioning from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. In addition to leading a multidisciplinary group focused on neuromuscular diseases, Cecilia serves as a Consultant in Muscle Pathology and Translational Research, and as an Associate Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona specializing in Human Molecular Genetics and Developmental Biology. Cecilia also holds roles as an AQU Accredited Research Professor with the Generalitat de Catalunya and as a Board Member of the European Reference Network for Neuromuscular Diseases. Cecilia's past positions include participation in significant networks and research groups in Spain and the UK, contributing to the understanding and treatment of rare diseases. Cecilia earned a PhD in Genetics from UCL and has further qualifications in clinical science and life sciences.
