Mike Freeman is the General Partner in the Innosphere Fund, which focuses on seed-stage investments in high growth potential ventures. He is also the Chief Executive Officer for Innosphere, a 21-year-old, 501(c)(3) technology incubator that serves more than 40 startup companies annually. Innosphere exists to support high-growth technology startup companies in Colorado. Innosphere has earned the distinction of being the technology incubator for Colorado State University, University of Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, and NREL. Innosphere has operations in the three most significant technology centers in Colorado’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. Previously, Mike served as the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Fort Collins, CO. Fort Collins has a population of 140,000 and a total budget of nearly $500 million. Fort Collins is a full-service City including a municipal electric utility. Responsibilities include overall management of the City’s finances, budgeting, strategic planning as well as economic development. He represented the City on Innosphere’s Board of Directors where he drove significant growth in the capabilities to serve technology startups. He holds a Master’s of Arts in Public Administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
