Tara Cavazos

Clinical Advisor at Catapult Health

Tara is actively involved in the training of the Catapult Health Nurse Practitioners. She has a critical role in the product development process, and works closely with the Catapult Health Medical Directors in each state through the follow-up with highest risk patients. She entered the medical profession as a pediatric intensive care nurse, working with critically ill children at a large pediatric hospital in Dallas. Most of her career as a nurse practitioner has involved serving in a medically underserved clinic, enhancing access to care for low-income patients from culturally diverse backgrounds. Since 2009 she has been an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Texas at Arlington. She is a founding principal in the Lakewood Family Health Clinic in Dallas. Tara earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duke University’s School of Nursing, her Master's Degree in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she was an MSN Academic Scholar and was recognized with the Excellence in Clinical Nursing Student Award for two consecutive years.
