James Frye

James Frye has an extensive work experience in the field of education. James started their career as a K-6 Interventionist and Academic Support at Eastfield Global Magnet School in 2009. James then worked at Lenoir-Rhyne University as an Editor-in-Chief, Assistant Editor-in-Chief, Writing Center, and Speech Lab Assistant, and Teacher Assistant from 2010 to 2013. From 2011 to 2013, they also worked as a Robotics and STEM Teacher at CyberKids Robotics, focusing on teaching students programming, mathematics, and critical thinking skills. In 2014, James began working as an Adjunct Professor of Education at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where they taught technology integration courses to undergraduate students. James joined Kyte Learning in 2016 as a Content Creator until 2018. From 2012 to 2019, James held multiple roles at Newton-Conover City Schools, including Assistant Principal, Instructional Technology/Public Information Officer, and English and Journalism Teacher. James also worked as a Consultant at The William and Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation from 2018 to 2020. James then served as a Consultant at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction from 2015 to 2021, where they worked on various projects related to personalized learning, instructional improvement, and school reopening. Most recently, James is working as a Leadership Consultant for the NC Principal Fellows Program/Graduate Programs at Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University since 2023.

James Frye has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Kentucky, completed from 2017 to 2023. James also obtained a Specialist degree in Executive Leadership, Superintendency and District Administration from the University of Kentucky, completed from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Post-Masters Certificate in Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations (Principal Licensure) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, completed from 2016 to 2017. James also holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction / Educational Technology from Michigan State University, completed in 2013. James has a Bachelor's Degree in English / Secondary Education from Lenoir-Rhyne University, where they also completed coursework in Information Technology and Multimedia Journalism. James completed coursework in English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. James holds an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities, as well as a Higher Diploma in Web/Computer Information Technology from McDowell Technical Community College, both completed in 2006. Additionally, James has obtained various certifications, including a NC Standard Professional II Educators' License in Principal, Grades K-12 and in English, Grades 9-12, as well as in English/Language Arts, Grades 6-9, from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. James has also obtained certifications in Internet Business, Network Technology, and Site Development Technology from CIW in 2009.
