Paul Breitbarth

Paul Breitbarth has a diverse work experience in the field of data protection and privacy. Paul has held positions such as Member of the Data Protection Authority at the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner, Data Protection Lead at Catawiki, Business Owner at Serious Privacy B.V., and Senior Visiting Fellow at Maastricht University Faculty of Law. Paul has also served as a Member of the Data Protection Board at the European Patent Office, Member of the Board at Oldenburg Bonsèl & Associates, and Member of the Guidance Committee at Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek- en Documentatiecentrum (WODC). Paul has demonstrated expertise in GDPR compliance, policy development, risk assessments, and legal research. Paul has worked with organizations to ensure accountability and compliance with privacy and data protection laws, with a strong focus on Europe.

Paul Breitbarth attended Gymnasium Juvenaat from 1994 to 2000, where they obtained their Eindexamen degree in VWO. Paul went on to pursue further education at Maastricht University Faculty of Law from 2000 to 2005, earning their Master of Laws (LLM) degree. Additionally, in 2003 and 2004, Paul studied at Université de Bordeaux and obtained a DES degree in Droit européen.
