Kirk Malmrose

Kirk Malmrose has extensive work experience in the banking and real estate industry. Kirk is currently the Executive Vice President - Director of Commercial Real Estate and Construction Lending at Cathay Bank. In this role, they manage lending teams on both the West and East coasts, overseeing a $7.5 billion commercial real estate loan portfolio.

Prior to joining Cathay Bank, Kirk worked at Western Alliance Bank as a Senior Vice President, focusing on real estate financings ranging from $10 million to over $50 million. Kirk also played a role in Western Alliance Bank's recognition as one of Forbes' Top 10 Best Banks in America.

Before that, Kirk was at CIT, where they served as a Senior Vice President and managed the middle market loan production office. During their time at CIT, they completed over $350 million in real estate financings.

Kirk also held positions at Banco Popular North America as Vice President, where they established and upgraded the bank's middle-market commercial real estate lending and construction platform, and at Bank of America Merrill Lynch/TriSail Capital as a Managing Director, where they originated over $300 million in equity, mezzanine, and debt investments.

In addition, Kirk has experience in corporate real estate asset management at Bank of America, where they managed a 1,000,000 square foot real estate portfolio, including bank offices, retail branches, and third-party tenants. Kirk also served as a Real Estate Asset Manager - REO, managing the foreclosure and disposition of various real estate properties.

Throughout their career, Kirk has demonstrated impressive achievements and expertise in real estate financing, asset management, and bank operations.

Kirk Malmrose earned a BS degree in Computer Science/Japanese from Brigham Young University, where they attended from 1979 to 1986. Kirk later pursued an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from UCLA Anderson School of Management from 1988 to 1990.
