Mr. Toong is an independent Non-executive Director of the Company. He has over 30 years’ experience in the banking industry. Until his retirement in 2008, he was the deputy head of Asia and head of North Asia, Private Wealth Management for Deutsche Bank AG. Between 2009 and 2011, he was the Chairman, Asia for Clariden Leu Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Credit Suisse Group. He was a director of Sun Life Hong Kong Limited and he retired from the board in June 2017. He also spent 20 years in commercial and investment banking with J.P. Morgan. Mr. Toong holds a B.A. degree in Microbiology and a MBA in Finance and Marketing from Southern Illinois University, U.S.A.
