Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties

Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties is a comprehensive health and human services agency helping all people and creating hope for thousands in Genesee County since 1941. Catholic Charities was founded for the sole purpose of strengthening and preserving families. Our mission remains the cornerstone of our work today as we continue to offer services that improve the quality of life for all in our community. Our programs continue to evolve to meet the specific needs and demands of the community we serve. Building on this commitment, our programming incorporates Counseling, Prevention & Education and Outreach Services, Adoption and Foster Care services, three soup kitchens and three sandwich programs, a Warming Center and Community Closet, as well as a transportation program for children/adults who are facing terminal illness. Our outreach program provides assistance with rent/mortgage and utilities for people who are at-risk, vulnerable and challenged due to a variety of circumstances. Our mission to provide help and create hope, offering all individuals, regardless of faith or situation, the means to reinforce the positive values of family life. We proclaim the sanctity of human life and the dignity of the person by working with individuals, families and communities to help them meet their needs, address their issues, eliminate oppression, and build a just and compassionate society.
