Kate Walker has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Kate began their career in 2006 as a School Social Worker at the William Penn School District. In 2007, they worked as a Consultant to the Atlanta Housing Authority at Draper & Associates and also served as an MSW Intern with the Center for Youth Development at the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. In 2009, they became an Independent Consultant at the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania before transitioning to the role of Manager of Refugee Support Services at Catholic Charities Atlanta. Kate later took on the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives at Catholic Charities Atlanta in 2016.
Kate Walker obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a concentration in Social Work (Macro Concentration) from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. Prior to that, they attended The University of Georgia before completing their degree. Additionally, they have obtained certifications including the Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations Program from Harvard University in May 2021 and is licensed as a Social Worker by the Georgia Secretary of State.
