Ja'Ponica Dunbar has extensive experience in various roles focused on community service and support, primarily within the context of disaster recovery and immigration services. Currently serving as RIS Coordinator and previously as Home Study Post Release Services Personnel Supervisor and Immigration Legal Services Coordinator at Catholic Charities Diocese of Baton Rouge, Ja'Ponica has cultivated a strong ability to manage case details and collaborate with diverse populations. Prior roles include bilingual Disaster Case Manager at Disaster Services Corporation, legal assistant at Mayeaux Sardi L.C., and CEO & Founder of Our Marriage Bed, LLC, where workshops and seminars were conducted to enhance communication in marriages. Ja'Ponica holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology Project Management from Western Governors University and has furthered education in event planning. An adept communicator, Ja'Ponica has also fulfilled positions that bridge cultural gaps, including a Spanish Liaison for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

Catholic Charities of Baton Rouge traces its history back to the oldest Catholic Charities in the nation. It has existed as an integral part of the Diocese of Baton Rouge since the inception of the Diocese in 1964. Both the Diocese of Baton Rouge and Catholic Charities of Baton Rouge grew out of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and its Catholic Charities agency was the first in the U.S., established in the 1805. The Baton Rouge agency serves those most in need with an array of comprehensive programs that include direct assistance, disaster recovery, adoption, child-welfare services, and comprehensive supportive services for pregnant women, refugees, families in poverty, and ex-offenders. We are the area’s leading disaster recovery agency. We serve people of all faiths in Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupée, St. Helena, St. James, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana parishes. We’re a member agency of Capital Area United Way.
