CCSEM was formed to address the changing human needs by providing the highest level of professional services for families and individuals in the counties of the Archdiocese of Detroit while maintaining respect for ethnic, religious, and racial diversity, and recognizing the differences that exist and the related variety of needs within the geographic areas served.

The leadership team at Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan has a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. Many on the team have worked in social services and have degrees in fields such as psychology, social work, and communication. The team also has members with experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, and law. This diverse set of experiences allows the team to effectively meet the needs of the community they serve.
