Bethany Ackley Deblaay

Bethany Ackley DeBlaay is an experienced psychotherapist currently serving at Grand Rapids Trauma Counseling since March 2018, specializing in somatic-based psychotherapy. Additionally, Bethany has been a therapist in the Refugee Services program at Lutheran Social Services of Michigan since January 2016, providing trauma therapy for qualified clients under the ORR survivors of torture grant. Since January 2013, Bethany has also worked as a behavioral health therapist at Catholic Charities West Michigan. Prior to these roles, Bethany was the owner of Balanced-U Health Coaching from January 2008 to January 2013. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Psychology with a focus on Systems Counseling from Saybrook University (2011-2012) and ongoing training at the Somatic Experiencing Training Institute since 2015.
