Carley Gender has extensive experience in social services, primarily working with families and children in various capacities. Currently serving as a Families First Worker at Catholic Charities West Michigan since June 2015, Carley focuses on providing intensive home-based interventions and collaborating with Child Protective Services and the Department of Health and Human Services. Previous roles include a Violence Prevention Intern at Family Futures, where Carley contributed to curriculum development and community training, as well as an Activity Leader for T.E.A.M 21 at the City of Wyoming, MI, promoting academic support and personal goal achievement for at-risk students. Carley also volunteered at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, providing support to patients and families, and served as Site Coordinator for Recreation Reaps Rewards, overseeing after-school programs. Carley holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Grand Valley State University, obtained in 2014.
