Rich Balmadier

Rich Balmadier has extensive experience in international development and planned giving, currently serving as the Director of Planned Giving at Catholic Relief Services since July 1991. In this role, Rich is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the planned giving program, engaging with donors and fundraising staff to secure various types of contributions. Rich has previously held significant leadership positions as Country Representative in multiple countries, including Indonesia, Cambodia, Morocco, Rwanda, and Cameroon, managing programs with substantial budgets and large teams. Additionally, Rich has expertise in project management from launching an emergency food program in Vladivostok, Russia, and possesses a background in engineering, having worked as a Project Engineer at Underwriter’s Laboratories. Rich holds a Master's degree in International Affairs from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia Engineering.
