Karimulla Shaikh

Karimulla Shaikh has an extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Karimulla served as the Chief Technology Officer at Cato since November 2014. In 2016, they joined Carnegie Mellon University as a Faculty in Integrated Innovation. Karimulla also worked at Volta Energy as a Technology Advisor starting from January 2017.

Before that, Karimulla held the position of Senior Vice President of Product Development, Language Solutions at SDL plc from August 2010 to June 2014. Prior to SDL plc, they were the Vice President of Product Development and Operations at Faculte, Inc. from January 2008 to July 2010.

Karimulla also has experience in retail solutions, having worked as the VP of Product Development at Quantum Route, Inc. from October 2005 to December 2007. Karimulla developed a retail analytics solution and implemented an RFID-based automated supply-chain system for a leading produce supplier.

Earlier in their career, Karimulla held positions at Neoforma as the Director of Engineering, Chief Architect, and Engineering Manager from January 2000 to October 2005. Karimulla also worked at Pharos Technologies as an Engineering Manager and Web Application Architect from March 1999 to January 2000. Their professional journey started at Nanosoft Corporation, where they worked as a Software Engineer from January 1997 to March 1999.

Karimulla Shaikh pursued their education in the field of Computer-Aided Engineering and Management. Karimulla began their academic journey at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree between the years 1984 and 1988. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree at the same institution from 1988 to 1991, further specializing in Computer-Aided Engineering. From 1991 to 1996, Karimulla Shaikh attended Carnegie Mellon University, where they worked towards a PhD ABD (All But Dissertation) in Computer-Aided Engineering and Management. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certification as an AWS Academy Educator from Amazon Web Services in September 2021.
