Director, Carbon Program Monitoring & Engagement at Catona Climate

Megan Bomba has a diverse range of work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Megan currently holds the position of Director of Carbon Program Monitoring & Engagement at Catona Climate since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Nexleaf Analytics, where they had multiple roles, including Interim Director - Impact & Market Shaping, Senior Program Manager - Clean Cooking, Program Manager - Clean Cooking, and Project Manager - Clean Cooking. During their time at Nexleaf Analytics, Megan developed clean cooking program strategies, oversaw new initiatives, and led global teams in pilot testing IoT technology for clean cooking projects.

Megan also had experience at Climatebase as a Founding Fellow in 2022. Megan worked as an Adjunct Professor at Occidental College from 2017 to 2019. Before that, they held positions at the Urban & Environmental Policy Institute as a Project Director and Choose Health LA Initiative Coordinator. At the Urban & Environmental Policy Institute, Megan spearheaded new program development, fundraised grants, and coordinated obesity prevention initiatives.

Prior to their roles at the Urban & Environmental Policy Institute, Megan was the Producer Team Lead at Good Eggs, where they managed relationships with vendors and suppliers to build a local food marketplace. Megan also founded and operated Heart Beet Gardening, a business providing edible landscaping services and educating clients about urban agriculture. Megan has experience in student work at the UC Davis Student Farm Market Garden and served as a Lead Instructor for Vegetable Crops at the University Extension's Japanese Agricultural Training Program.

Megan Bomba has a Master's Degree in International Agricultural Development from the University of California, Davis, which they obtained from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies from Oberlin College, attending from 2002 to 2005. Megan also holds a Permaculture Design Certificate from Earthflow Design Works, obtained in 2008.
