CAUCE is an all-volunteer advocacy organization that is focused on defending the interests of users and preventing abuse that started operations in 1997. 

Our mission is to protect the privacy and safety of internet users and to prevent the abuse of electronic communications of all sorts. We do this by advocating for strong laws and regulations that protect users and by providing education and resources to the law enforcement community.

CAUCE is an entirely volunteer-run organization. Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and have a variety of expertise and experience.

We are committed to working with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and other organizations to promote responsible and ethical practices in the use of electronic communication.
