Liz Celeste has a diverse work experience. Liz began their career in 2007 as a Customer Service Representative for COWIC/JOBLeaders. In 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant for the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission and an Idea Lab & Sustainability Coordinator for The Ohio State University - Urban Arts Space. In 2009, they were an Events Coordinator for VSA Ohio. From 2010 to 2013, they were a Creative Strategy Consultant and Deputy Director of Exhibitions & Programs for The Ohio State University - Urban Arts Space. From 2013 to 2017, they were an Assistant Curator & Programming Manager at Stanford University. During this time they were responsible for overseeing exhibitions, recommending programming, and managing gallery attendants. From 2017 to 2020, they were an Artist for CAVAN IMAGES. In 2020, they began working as a Freelance Photographer for SFGATE. Most recently, they were hired as the Curator of Education and Exhibitions for Northwestern Michigan College.

Liz Celeste obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Cultural & Applied Anthropology from Wake Forest University between 2000 and 2003. Liz then went on to The Ohio State University to obtain their Master of Arts in Arts Administration, Education & Policy between 2007 and 2009.
