Ed Smith, BS, CISSP, has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of technology. Ed began their career in the United States Air Force, where they served as a SrA - B1B Defensive Avionics, Navigation, and Communications Systems Specialist from 1988 to 1992. Following their military service, Ed worked as an IT Manager at MCI, where they led the development of multiple call center applications and managed large-scale projects.
In 2005, Ed joined The Home Depot, taking on various leadership roles. Ed served as a Siebel Development Manager, overseeing a large-scale project to replace the special services flooring application in stores with a Siebel CRM implementation. Ed also managed teams and budgets in their roles as Sr Manager of IT Logistics Development & Support and Sr Manager of Reliability Engineering - Supply Chain IT. In the latter role, they promoted reliability engineering practices, built SRE teams, and led security-related activities.
Currently, Ed holds the position of Director of Customer Technology at Cavender's. In this role, they are responsible for ensuring quality delivery standards in design, development, testing, and maintenance. Ed also formulates and executes strategies to support digital transformation and growth.
Throughout their career, Ed has consistently demonstrated their expertise in technology and their ability to lead teams and deliver successful projects.
Ed Smith obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Newman University. Ed pursued this degree from 1989 to 1992. Prior to that, from 1984 to 1986, Ed attended Control Data Institute where they graduated with a degree in Computer Programming and Operations. In addition to their formal education, Ed Smith has obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in October 2019.
