Walt Drane, Jr. has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Walt most recently served as the Director of Education Services at Caveon Test Security since July 2018. Previously, they held various roles at the Mississippi Department of Education, including Executive Director of Assessment and Accountability, State Assessment Director Operations and Test Security, Interim State Assessment Director, and Assistant Director of Student Assessment. Prior to their work at the Department of Education, Walt worked as an Assistant Principal at Raymond High School. Walt began their career in education as a Sixth Grade Social Studies Teacher and later became a Teacher at Pearl Public School District. Throughout their career, Walt has exemplified strong leadership and expertise in assessment and test security.
Walt Drane, Jr.'s education history began in 1994 when they attended Pearl High School and obtained their H.S. degree in Education in 1998. Following this, they enrolled at Mississippi State University from 1998 to 2002, where they pursued their BA degree in Political Science. After completing their undergraduate studies, Walt joined Mississippi College from 2003 to 2006, working towards an M.Ed. degree in Education. Later, in 2006 and 2007, they continued their education at Mississippi College to earn an Ed.S. degree in Educational Leadership.
