Julien Vignier

Julien Vignier has a diverse range of work experience in the field of aquaculture. Julien started their career as a farm laborer and intern at GAEC Dreau, where they gained experience in fish farming. After that, they worked as a student project at Aquasem, focusing on the reproduction of ornamental fish, shrimps, and soft corals.

Julien then worked as a research technician at Amalthea SL, where they were involved in farming clams, oysters, and shrimps. Julien then moved on to Acuigigantes SL, where they worked as an off-shore farm worker.

In 2007, Julien joined Ardtoe Marine Laboratory as an R&D senior technician and head of shellfish hatchery activities. Here, they were responsible for the production of various marine species and was involved in several research projects.

From 2011 to 2014, Julien worked at Florida Gulf Coast University as a laboratory and hatchery manager. Julien conducted experiments on the effects of multiple stressors on bivalves.

In 2003, Julien pursued further education at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, where they earned a Master's degree in Aquaculture, completing their studies in 2005. Julien then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from 2011 to 2015 at the Université de Bretagne Occidentale, specializing in Shellfish toxicology.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Julien Vignier has obtained various certifications. In 2006, they earned a CMAS 2 star Scuba diving certification from the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS). Furthermore, in August 2015, they obtained a License for operating recreational crafts fitted with engines, although the institution from which they obtained this certification is not specified.
