CBCL has written the Nova Scotia Landfill Guidelines. CBCL has also undertaken projects in wastewater collection, treatment, and discharge for over 30 communities throughout Atlantic Canada. Waste treatment designs range form simple stabilization ponds to complex plants incorporating primary, secondary and tertiary treatment. CBCL is able to provide complete services for water systems, from surface and groundwater resource analysis through water treatment, storage and distribution of new communities, fish plants, pulp mills, subdivision, industrial parks and expansions to major systems. As well, CBCL designs drainage systems which include local storm sewers, collectors, tunnels, and outfalls. Studies determine inflow / infiltration and control methods, impact of urban development on quantity and characteristic of storm water flow, as well as erosion control.
