CBCL has written the Nova Scotia Landfill Guidelines. CBCL has also undertaken projects in wastewater collection, treatment, and discharge for over 30 communities throughout Atlantic Canada. Waste treatment designs range form simple stabilization ponds to complex plants incorporating primary, secondary and tertiary treatment. CBCL is able to provide complete services for water systems, from surface and groundwater resource analysis through water treatment, storage and distribution of new communities, fish plants, pulp mills, subdivision, industrial parks and expansions to major systems. As well, CBCL designs drainage systems which include local storm sewers, collectors, tunnels, and outfalls. Studies determine inflow / infiltration and control methods, impact of urban development on quantity and characteristic of storm water flow, as well as erosion control. The current leadership team at CBCL Limited has a long and varied history in terms of both their previous experiences and education. Many of the team members have experience working in engineering, either as Project Managers, Structural Engineers or Energy Engineers. Others have experience working in management and consulting, and still others have experience working in the legal field or in insurance. All of this experience has been gained at companies such as Conquest Engineering Ltd, Waste Resource Management International, Jacques Whitford, Godfrey Associates Limited, Whitman Benn & Associates, Intact and Lawyers' Insurance Association of Nova Scotia (LIANS). In terms of education, the team members have degrees from universities such as the University of Bradford, the University of New Brunswick, Mount Allison University, Dalhousie University and Heriot-Watt University.
