Nuwan Fernando

Nuwan Fernando serves as an Executive Committee Member and Vice President & Chair of the Education Committee at The IIA Lanka Chapter since November 2022. At CBL Group, Nuwan holds the position of General Manager - Group Governance, Risk & Control from June 2022 onwards. Prior experience includes roles such as Head of Internal Audit at Midas Safety Sri Lanka, Internal Audit Manager at South Asia Gateway Terminals, and Head Of Internal Audit Department at Edna Group. Nuwan began the career as an Accountant at People’s Realty Ltd and as an Internal Audit Executive at Nation Lanka Finance PLC. Nuwan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Financial Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and is currently an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, specializing in Financial Management, Auditing, Taxation, and Strategic Management.
