Joseph Firrantello

Joseph Firrantello, PhD, PE, is a highly experienced mechanical engineer currently serving as a Senior Consulting Mechanical Engineer at CBRE since September 2025. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior Building Energy Engineer at McKinstry, where contributions included leading multiple ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audits for hospitals and data centers, and developing energy management contracts for K-12 school districts. Joseph also has a robust background in building research, having worked at Envinity Inc. and authored energy studies for hospitals. Prior engineering-specific roles at James Posey Associates and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State University further highlight expertise in HVAC systems and energy modeling. Joseph earned a PhD in Architectural Engineering (HVAC) from Penn State University, complemented by a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering.
