Application Support Engineer – Unix Monitoring Engineer at CBTS

John Rothlisberger has a strong background in Unix system administration and cloud operations. John started their career as a Unix System Administrator at Motorola, where they worked from January 1993 to July 1996. John then moved on to Abbott Laboratories, where they continued their role as a Unix System Administrator from July 1996 to November 1999. Following this, they worked at UTEK, Inc. as a Unix System Administrator from November 1999 to March 2000. John then joined W.W. Grainger as a Senior Unix System Administrator from March 2000 to May 2001.

In 2001, John started working at Accenture as a Cloud Ops Engineering Associate Manager. John managed on-premise virtual private-cloud environments in multiple datacenters and led a global Linux team. John also played a key role in the 24/7 TechOps on-call support team, ensuring SLAs were met. Additionally, they supported hybrid cloud environments that utilized public cloud providers like AWS and Azure. John worked at Accenture until August 2020.

Most recently, John joined CBTS in July 2022 as an Application Support Engineer, specifically specializing in Unix monitoring. John was involved in a server consolidation project and created scripts to enhance resource usage visibility. John also developed scripts and reports for software installations on both Windows and Linux servers.

John Rothlisberger attended Harper College from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained an AAS degree in Digital Electronics & Microprocessor Technology. In addition to their degree, they also obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in December 2022.
