Established in 2009, China Development Bank Capital Co., Ltd. ("CDB Capital" or "国开金融") is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Development Bank ("CDB" or "国家开发银行") with a registered capital of USD 8 billion.CDB Capital maintains a unique and significant position within the CDB system. As the affiliated investment arm of CDB, CDB Capital is responsible for making investments in equity sectors, and utilizes CDB branches both domestically and abroad as deal sourcing resources. CDB Capital has not only served to implement state strategies and industrial development, but also played a pioneering role in the development of China’s equity funds.

CDB Capital has essentially become a comprehensive strategic investment platform with business ranging from fund of fund, urban infrastructure investment, industrial investment and foreign investment. Since its foundation, CDB Capital has invested in over 20 funds and 400 projects, included Guochuang FOF, Silk Road Fund, China-Africa Development Investment Fund, Sino French Innovation Fund, Shanghai Dream Center, Alibaba, S.F. Express etc. 

As of the end of 2015, its total assets reached USD 18 billion, and assets under management exceeded USD 22 billion, with USD 0.7 billion of net profit in 2015.
