David Jones is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in health informatics. Currently serving as the Lead Health Scientist (Informatics) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since September 2019, David has previously held positions such as Senior Health Informaticist and Newborn Screening Health Informaticist at the Utah Department of Health from June 2016 to August 2019. Earlier in his career, David was an Applied Public Health Informatics Fellow and a National Library of Medicine Predoctoral Fellow at the Department of Biomedical Informatics, University of Utah, where David completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Informatics. David began his career as a Laboratory Technologist II at ARUP Laboratories from July 2008 to May 2011 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honors Biology from the University of Utah.
