David McCormick

David McCormick is a Medical Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, specializing in blood, organ, and tissue safety since July 2020. Prior experience includes roles as a Medical Epidemiologist and Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer, as well as Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, where David completed medical residency training. Early in David's career, experience as a Research Assistant at Rickard Lab and as a Fulbright Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology involved research on microbial ecology and methanotrophic bacteria. David holds an M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine, an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. in Molecular Biology and German Studies from Pomona College.
