Epidemiologist And Health Scientist (informatics)

Ray King is an accomplished epidemiologist and health scientist specializing in public health informatics at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since June 2011. King leads the Memphis Community Health Record project, aiming to integrate diverse health data to enhance chronic disease prevention and control strategies. Prior experience at the CDC includes research fellowships focusing on diseases such as cutaneous leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, and West Nile virus, alongside the application of GIS and remote sensing to vector-borne diseases. King holds a PhD in Epidemiology with a focus on Spatial Analysis and GIS from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as well as an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from the same institution, and a BA from Emory University in Anthropology, Biology, and Human and Natural Ecology.
