Sean Smith

Sean Smith is a seasoned professional in health policy and government relations, currently serving as a Health Policy Analyst and Team Lead at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since October 2024. Prior experience includes a tenure at the Health Resources and Services Administration, where Sean held progressively responsible roles from Legislative Analyst to Lead Legislative Analyst from October 2016 to October 2024. Previously, Sean was the Director of Government and Public Relations at the Association of Science-Technology Centers from February 2001 to October 2016, and worked in the U.S. Senate as a Professional Staff Member and Legislative Correspondent for Senator Barbara A. Mikulski between October 1997 and February 2001. Academic qualifications include a B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Maryland and advanced studies at Penn State University, where Sean served as both a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant.
