Miguel Angel Alvarez Jaimes is a civil engineer with extensive experience in territorial planning, geotechnical engineering, and risk management, currently working at the Corporación autónoma regional para la Defensa de la Meseta de Bucaramanga (CDMB) since January 2023. Additionally, Miguel serves as a continuing education professor in computational geoscience at Universidad Industrial de Santander. Previous roles include civil engineering positions at Alcaldía de Bucaramanga and Universidad Nacional de Colombia, as well as significant contributions to projects with Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga and Fundación Región Siglo XXI focused on flood and landslide risk assessments. Miguel holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a specialization in Environmental Geotechnical Engineering, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources at Universidad Industrial de Santander.
