Dr. Stephanie Sheppard is a licensed mental health counselor with extensive experience in the field, currently serving as a Mental Health Counselor at CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, Inc. since August 2006. Prior to this role, Dr. Sheppard worked as Counselor II at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. from September 2003 to August 2006. Dr. Sheppard's educational background includes a Doctor of Christian Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary (2014-2018), a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University (2005-2007), a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Leo University (2001-2004), and an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Santa Fe College. Dr. Sheppard is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, Inc. is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit social services agency that has provided services in North Central Florida for over 53 years. While CDS’s many individual programs serve a wide variety of community needs, they all fall under the umbrella of the organization’s mission statement, “Empowering Youth & Building Strong Families for a Brighter Tomorrow.” The three main programs areas include: Youth Shelters – Programs for youth in crisis Counseling – Services for troubled youth and their families Prevention – Educating the community, focusing on substance abuse and high-risk populations CDS has offices in Gainesville, Lake City and Palatka and its services now cover an eleven county area, including: Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Lafayette, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Suwannee, Levy, Putnam and Union. CDS is the sole provider of many of its services, such as runaway shelters, in North Central Florida.
