Philippe Carles

Philippe Carles has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as an International Collaboration Officer at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives since 2017, where responsibilities include managing bilateral collaborations and preparing meetings for the Chairman with foreign counterparts. Prior roles at CEA include Program Manager for External Applications, where a $50M annual budget led to a 25% program increase and oversight of a significant R&D team. Carles also served as an advisor to the French Minister in charge of Energy, focusing on various energy policies, and held several project management and leadership positions at CEA since 1992. Educational qualifications include an Engineer’s Degree from École Polytechnique, a Master’s in Solid State Physics from Université Paris Cité, and a PhD in Soft Condensed Matter Physics from Pierre and Marie Curie University.
