Octavian Rachieru

Octavian Rachieru has a strong background in web development, with work experience spanning over a decade. Octavian started their career in 2010 as a Freelance Web Developer, working on a Canadian Rental Listings platform. Octavian gained experience in both frontend and backend development using PHP and the CodeIgniter framework.

In 2011, Octavian joined Hot Buckles as a Web Developer, where they worked on an e-commerce platform called HotBuckles.com, specializing in belt buckles and accessories. Octavian collaborated with Romanian friends on this freelance project and worked for a US contractor.

Octavian then moved on to Simplio Labs in 2012, where they assumed the role of Lead Developer. Octavian led a team of three juniors, a designer, and occasional 3rd party contractors, focusing on backend development while also taking on full-stack responsibilities.

In 2014, Octavian joined XL Team as a Full Stack (PHP) Developer. Octavian'swork primarily focused on the backend of a Rental Listings portal. Octavian used technologies such as Vanilla JS (ES6), Typescript, PHP (5x, 7x) with FuelPHP and Symfony frameworks, and Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes for infrastructure.

Continuing their career progression, Octavian joined Cognizant Softvision in 2020 as a Senior PHP Developer. Octavian worked on a cashback/loyalty platform built on a microservice architecture. Octavian served as a technical lead for a subdivision of the team and was also responsible for evaluating their colleagues' technical skills. The product was developed using PHP, React, Java, and Kafka.

In 2022, Octavian joined Pentalog as a Senior PHP Developer. Here, they continued their work in PHP development until their departure in June 2023.

Most recently, Octavian commenced their role as a Senior PHP Developer at Cedara in June 2023.

Octavian Rachieru received a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from Universitatea "Spiru Haret" din București. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Informatics from Romania Jobs. In terms of certifications, Octavian Rachieru earned a Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) certification from Scrum.org in January 2022.
