Florence Fisackerly Brooks has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Florence began their career in 1987 as the Director of Youth and Children's Ministries at Park View United Methodist Church, where they focused on coordinating outreach activities and music and drama programs. In 1988, they joined Virginia Farm Bureau Family of Companies as the Director of Womens and Young Farmer Programs, where they provided leadership development opportunities for young farmers and coordinated the Agriculture in the Classroom program. Brooks then served as Chaplain at Virginia Wesleyan University from 2009 to 2010 before transitioning to The United Methodist Church, where they held various roles as a pastor, associate, interim, and supply. During this time, they also provided support to their husband and the churches they served while on Family Leave. In 1997, they became a Home Educator for The Brooks, coordinating and overseeing the education of their five children while collaborating with other parents to provide workshops, art classes, field trips, and core classes. Starting in 2014, Brooks joined Cedarfield, taking on roles such as Director of Pastoral Services, Chaplain Manager, and Director of Lifestyles and Wellness. Florence served in these positions until 2022 when they became a Resilient Leadership Coach at Resilient Leadership, LLC. Additionally, from 2019 to 2021, they were an ACPE Certified Educator Candidate at the Association of Clinical Pastoral Educators. Throughout their career, Brooks has gained extensive experience in leadership development, pastoral care, education, and program coordination.

Florence Fisackerly Brooks completed their education in a chronological manner. Florence first attended Randolph College from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy. Following this, they then enrolled at Wesley Theological Seminary from 1990 to 1994, obtaining a Master's degree in Divinity. Lastly, from 2014 to 2016, Florence attended the Richmond Hill RUAH program, where they completed their studies in Spiritual Guidance and received a RUAH XIII degree.
