Hamid Ghaednia currently serves as the Co-Director of the Center for Surgical Innovation and Engineering at Cedars-Sinai, where the focus is on developing biomedical devices and wearables integrated with AI for decision support systems. Previously, Ghaednia held positions as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Computational Biomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School. Ghaednia's research includes advancements in biomedical implants, particularly a novel continuously expandable implant for cervical laminoplasty. With extensive experience in material modeling, tribology, and contact mechanics, Ghaednia has contributed to various research projects during a postdoctoral tenure at Rice University and has participated in academic instruction and mentoring at multiple levels. Ghaednia holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University and has received recognition as the leader of the Iranian national team in the International Young Physicists Tournament.
